FAQ
Short answers to questions new readers ask most.
Is Tobin production-ready?
No. It is experimental software on Stellar Testnet. Mainnet and real-value use are not authorised, and nothing has been independently audited.
Does Tobin move money?
The application does not. It prepares settlement instructions. On Testnet, separate owner-run tools execute the contract steps with test assets, one transaction at a time, after the owner's typed confirmation.
Is the engine's plan the only valid plan?
No. The engine produces one deterministic default plan. The contract accepts any plan that meets its rules, and does not require it to equal the engine's output, or to be minimal or unique.
What is "non-custodial" here?
A technical statement only: no Tobin operator key can move funds under the contract's rules. It is not a legal or regulatory claim, and Tobin does not decide any institution's KYC or regulatory obligations.
Does Tobin replace SEP-31, SEP-24 or SEP-38?
No. It is designed to sit above Stellar's existing standards. It defines no protocol token.
Does approving a calculation authorize payment?
No. A reviewer's approval is a database record. Each debtor separately authorizes its own transfers on chain.
What happens when execution results are confirmed?
They are read back from the network by an owner-run tool and compared with the approved plan. The result is not written back into the application's records.
Is there an API reference or an OpenAPI file?
No. See HTTP routes for what exists.
Can I use it with Mainnet?
No. Wallet sign-in and signer-set recording accept Testnet only, and no Mainnet path exists.
Where do I report a security problem?
Privately, through GitHub private vulnerability reporting. See the security policy.
Can I use the Tobin name and logo?
The Apache-2.0 licence covers the code. It does not grant rights to the Tobin name, logo or brand assets. See Licence.
